For hunters and shooters that appreciate Ravin’s legendary technology, the R500 takes crossbow innovation to the next level. The new proprietary HexCoil Cam System rotates the cams an incredible 360 degrees and has reformed traditional crossbows into the fastest, most accurate and compact designs ever seen. Completely silent, this crossbow uses the new R500 Draw Handle and cocks back to a slim 3.6 inches when fully cocked, firing arrows downrange at 500 feet per second! The R500 utilizes the new VersaDrive Cocking System that has an internal screw drive that moves the Trac Trigger Firing System (TTFS) back and forth. The internal clutch within the VersaDrive System eliminates over-cocking and allows cocking and uncocking to be stopped or resumed at any time during the process. The R500 can be upgraded to the R500E by purchase of the new Electric Drive Kit, sold separately.  Ravin's patented frictionless flight system has been upgraded to two stainless steel bearings instead of the earlier model's plastic rollers.

TECHNOLOGY

Hex-Coil Cam Technology

The newest engine behind the Ravin R500 crossbows.  This amazing technology has changed the industry AGAIN with advantages that all work together to create the most accurate crossbow ever designed. Similar to HeliCoil, the HexCoil technology coils cables through teflon sleeves and away from both the top and bottom of the cams in spiral grooves keeping the cams perfectly level, perfectly balanced, and now able to rotate an astonishing 360 degrees.  This next evolution in design creates an incredibly compact crossbow firing bolts at 500 FPS with rifle-like downrange accuracy.

Versa-Drive Technology

The all new Versadrive cocking system is operated by the lightweight onboard cocking handle when connected to the butt stock.  Two parallel screw drives move the Trac-Trigger system along the rail in perfect alignment.  An internal clutch is now part of the drive system instead of the handle to prevent over cocking and stripping the old handle gear mechanism.  And our favorite part is no more free-wheeling of the cocking handle!  The process can be stopped at any point in the cocking or de-cocking with no danger or damage.  This also allows the optional battery powered E-drive (purchased separately) system to be attached and cock or de-cock the R500 with the push of a button.
