The Ruger AR-556 Semi-automatic Rifle is chambered in 5.56 NATO and constructed in the USA with aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminum for strength and reliability. The rifle features a hard-anodized upper receiver with an integrated forward assist, brass deflector, and dust cover for functional operation.

Its 16.1-inch medium-contour, cold hammer-forged barrel includes a Ruger flash suppressor to reduce muzzle flash. The lightweight, glass-filled nylon handguard is heat-resistant and designed for easy accessory attachment. The rifle has a chrome-plated bolt carrier and a bolt machined from durable 9310 alloy steel, contributing to consistent accuracy.

The AR-556 includes a Rapid Deploy folding rear sight adjustable for windage and an elevation-adjustable A2-style front sight. An included front sight tool allows quick adjustments and co-witnessing with optics. The ergonomic pistol grip and responsive single-stage trigger facilitate controlled, accurate firing. A milled gas block offers a QD socket, bayonet lug, and multiple points for sling attachment.

Weighing 6.5 pounds, this compact tactical rifle has an adjustable six-position buttstock to accommodate individual users. It comes equipped with a rugged Magpul PMAG magazine offering a capacity of 30+1 rounds.
