What do you need to take your family camping?

2. SLEEPING GEAR Sleeping bags, sleeping pads or air mattresses, and pillows for a good night's rest.

Sleeping Pads: Sleeping pads also have several different options. There are air, self-inflating, and closed-cell foam sleeping pads. One thing you may want to look at is the R-value of the sleeping pad. The R-value measures how well the sleeping bag resists heat.
