Manufactured in Michigan, the Great Lakes Firearms brand is quickly establishing a tremendous name for itself in the firearms community. This beautiful rifle from the Midwest fills the need for an affordable AR that you can trust to be built right. All Great Lakes standard AR-15 rifles are chambered in .223 Wylde and feature a 16" barrel in your choice of a beautiful 416r stainless steel or an ultra-smooth 4150 black nitride finish. The .223 Wylde chamber, fires both .223 Remington and 5.56 Nato with maximized efficiency and the 1:8" twist rate is ideal for keeping most bullet weights accurate. The heavy barrel incorporates a carbine length gas system, is threaded standard 1/2 x 28, and is fitted with a ported compensator. Each barrel is surrounded by a 15.25" 7075 aluminum M-Lok handguard allowing you to attach the accessories your mission requires. The heart of the rifle is a matching 7075 T6 aluminum upper and lower receiver set with all mil-spec parts completing the build. Great Lakes Firearms are highly recognizable due to their vibrant colors and beautiful finish. They take tremendous pride in the fact that they are an in-house certified Cerakote applicator. As a result, Great Lakes Firearms have a unique appearance with the finish on their product making each firearm look like a custom gun.
